Best Thai Food Dallas
About Lemongrass Eatery
So let’s set the stage. I’ve been eating Thai food before I could even read. My mother is the Thai queen and it’s usually our go-to restaurant when we go out. I’ve been eating Thai before I could read so I know a good Thai place when I taste it.
I personally love this cuisine and find it fun to look for new Thai restaurants to enjoy. When moving to Dallas, I was on the hunt to find delicious Pad thai and I stumbled upon Lemongrass Thai Eatery on google maps. I saw the 4.6 rating and knew I had to give it a try.

This restaurant is located in the Preston Valley Shopping Center located adjacent to the LBJ expressway
They are open Monday, Thursday, and Sunday from 11 am-2:30 pm and reopen 5 pm-9:30 pm

There are two menu options. One for Lunch (11am-2:30pm) and another for dinner (5pm-10pm)
The lunch menu price ranges from $4-$13. All entrees are given a soup of the day

Experience When You Walk Inside
I’ve ordered over the phone from Lemongrass Thai eatery and dined in alone and with friends so I’ve experienced this restaurant in different forms and it’s been consistent every time I order.
When you walk in, the restaurant can be described as quaint. This is not a “trendy” restaurant, it gives off a cozy and quiet vibe. It’s a relaxing environment where you can sit back, relax and enjoy your food.
Making a Reservation
You can reserve a table ahead of time with just a call (469.779.8111) or through google assistant. It’s a great option if you have people coming in from town like I did or a lunch/ dinner date spot.
You have a safe distance from everyone so you have an intimate experience without feeling like people are too close or speaking over you.
The lady I spoke with over the phone greeted me warmly and allows me to sit anywhere I like. She hands me the menu and is patient to see if I have any questions.
The first time going, I asked what the restaurant is known for, and she said they are known for their Pad thai, curries (the first dining experience I had she recommended the duck Panang curry ), and fried rice.
Depending on what you’re in the mood for is how the lovely waitress will help customize her suggestions.
Appetizers
Crab Rangoon
Crab Rangoon is my go-to appetizer at Thai restaurants, but at Lemongrass Thai Eatery, it is THE go-to appetizer.
With the crab Rangoon you get 5 individually flower-shaped wontons stuffed with hot cream cheese, ample amounts of crap, and celery.
The wonton is perfectly fried so when you bite into it, it’s crispy on the outside and like butter on the inside. One thing I love about Lemongrass Thai Eatery is they are generous with the crab!
The first time I had this dish I couldn’t believe how much crab I was tasting. If an ingredient is in the description, this restaurant will make sure you taste it.
What really gives it a unique flair is a sweet and sour sauce that is paired with it!
It’s a sweet yet vinaigrette-style sauce that brings out hidden flavors in the crab and cream cheese. You WILL dip the wonton in that sauce bite after bite. Ask for extra because you’ll need it!
If you’re dining in, you’ll get this cute spoon that comes with the serving tray. Put some sauce on the spoon (especially if you’re sharing with a group) and drizzle a generous amount over the fried wonton, take a bite and enjoy!
Curry Puffs
Curry puffs have become a new addition to my Thai eating experience. When I’ve tried it in other places, I’m given a nice puff, more triangular in shape and stuffed-ish. But Lemongrass Thai Eatery takes this dish to a new level.
With your order, you receive 3 medium-sized curry pastries. You can see their attention to detail because each pastry is individually braided on the edges to hold in the hearty filling made of curry, decadent potatoes, carrots, and onions.
Along with the pastry, you receive the delicious Thai cucumber vinegarette that is sweet and subtly tangy. You get nice pieces of cucumber and opinions that have soaked in the flavor of the sauce.
When you bite in the puff is soft and flaky, the perfect pastry puff. It’s warm and holds in lots of filling. Every bite you get the flaky pastry and ample amounts of curry filling which melts in your mouth.
Most places give you 5, but the 3 Lemongrass Thai Eatery gives are plenty. Sometimes, less is more.
Main Course
Pad Thai
As I said, I am the Pad thai queen and I usually judge a Thai restaurant by how good a Pad thai is.
I’ve tried both the chicken and shrimp but I absolutely adore the shrimp pad, Thai. The waitress brings it out not long after you make the order, piping hot.

I’m always shocked at how big the shrimp are! Again, Lemongrass Thai Eatery is not skimpy with its food. This dish has a decent amount of shrimp as well as Pad thai noodles. Ordering the Pad thai with extra sauce makes it even more delicious. You can even customize your order by getting glass noodles (a very good option!)
When you take a bite, you taste the sweetness of the tamarin sauce and the crunch of the peanuts. I like to get mine medium spicy, so the mixture of spice, sweetness, and crunch is the perfect combination.
If you’re super hungry you may be able to eat it all in one sitting. if you’re full from the delicious appetizers, then you’ll most likely take it home. Both the lunch and dinner portions are large so you will be satisfied either way.
This Pad thai is such a satisfying meal, making lemongrass eatery one of the best Pad thai dishes in Dallas!
Panang Curry
This is another favorite Thai dish of mine because when done well, it is divine.
I’ve had both the chicken and duck options. Fresh green beans, peppers, and Kaffir lime leaves are immersed into a flavorful thick coconut milk and curry soup.
At Lemongrass Thai eatery, you get a sizable portion of curry soup and a small side of sticky rice. Take a spoonful of rice and dip it into the delicious curry. You’ll taste a creamy mixture full of sweet and hearty flavors. You’ll crunch into the fresh green beans and peppers which add a nice texture to the soup-like dish.
If you go with the chicken option it’s plentiful. They add lots of chicken so it feels like with every bite you’re not missing anything.
The duck option is lovely because the duck is so delicate and tasty. You can use a spoon to cut right through it. There is ample duck per spoon ratio so you’ll taste the tender meat with every bite.
You won’t be able to stop putting your spoon back into the curry. Before you know it, you’ve eaten the whole thing!
Overall Experience
I clearly love this place, and I believe the service and quality of the food are fantastic. I can tell this restaurant puts a lot of attention to detail and are meticulous about bringing you a relaxed and tasteful experience.
The level of service and food quality is consistent which I love!
The only drawback is that service can be slower at dinner time. I’ve only seen two servers since being there and sometimes they can be in a rush to serve other tables and pick up the constantly ringing phone. But this is expected when it’s busy and does not reduce the overall quality!
This is Lemongrass Thai Eatery, one of the best Thai food restaurants in Dallas, and your next lunch/ dinner choice!
I hope this review makes your choice to eat here a lot easier! Happy eating and when you go, make sure to tell them how fabulous the food is!
Let’s eat around the world, together:)
