Dallas Food Festivals
Mainstreet Fest a Craft Brew Experience: May 19-21
Having returned from its pandemic hiatus, the Mainstreet Festival is back and is better than ever.
For 3 days, you can enjoy the culture of Grand Prarie Texas filled with live music, games, and of course, festival food.

You can also sink your teeth into whatever your little heart desires. Truly. If you’re into the monstrous turkey leg, this festival has you covered.
If it’s hot which we know it will be, have some frozen custard from Wooley’s frozen custard or a smoothie from Baja smoothies.
For something filling, try the Texas Skillet where they serve huge Texan burritos, cowboy briskets, and basically anything that can be topped with queso.
Everything will be paid by card, no cash is allowed. Click here for more information and to purchase tickets.

While you’re there try a Carne asada pizza, a specialized cocktail, or tacos till you become a taco.

Food Truck Festivals
If you’ve been in Dallas for some time or are new to the city, just know that food trucks are very popular. You can go to Klyde Warren Park any weekend to experience popular food trucks in the city.
With that being said, since it’s so early, I couldn’t find Dallas food truck festivals just yet. However, I was able to find some options in cities that are within 2 hours of Dallas.
Think of this as a day trip type of thing. But honestly, worth it because they are large food events.
When I find more (because they happen often) I will update this list.

The food truck championships is a 1-day FREE event located in Graham Texas where food trucks from all over the state compete to win a $10,000 cash prize.

The Texas Food Truck Showdown: April 1
The Showdown is happening in Waco Texas on April 1st. It’s one of Waco’s most popular food events having a crowd of upward of 25,000 people!
You as an attendee will have the opportunity to be a part of the food truck festival. You will purchase tasty tickets to eat a signature dish from the food trucks. ( No cash or card will be accepted to receive food from 10 am-4 pm only tasty tickets)
Your tasty tickets are your votes. The food truck with the most tickets is the winner.
I think this is a unique way of doing a festival because attendees are participating in the competition.
Once the competition is finished, food trucks will open their full menu, where you can purchase items by cash and card. (No tasty tickets will be accepted after 4 pm)
This is a family-friendly event, they even have a kids zone and dogs are also welcomed!
